Community Ties Youth Provision at Oaken Grove

Our Provision aims to provide young people with opportunities:

  • Participate in purposeful and exciting activities within their community.

  • Engage with their wider community and take part in projects that benefit their well-being that of the local community.

  • Access youth services.

We deliver weekly sessions during term time and exciting project work and events throughout the year at Oaken Grove and The Old School in Wigginton. All our groups are delivered by a qualified youth worker or practitioner with a current DBS check and first aid certificate. Please read on for further information about each group.

TAKE A BOW Youth Theatre

  • Saturdays, 9:30 – 11:30 am Cost: 1.50 per session and £15.00 per term.

  • Open for children and young people ages 7-13.

  • There is no audition process to join and no current waiting list.

  • Regular performances and projects both inside and outside the Centre.

  • Regular masterclasses including dance, mask theatre and puppetry.

WEDNESDAY YOUTH CLUB

  • Wednesdays, 6:00-7:00 pm. Cost £2 per session.

  • Based at the Old School in Wigginton.

  • Open to young people ages 7-10.

  • Take part in fun activities, crafts, sports, trips out and more.

WEDNESDAY YOUTH GROUP

  • Wednesdays, 7:00 – 9:00 pm. Cost: £2 per session.

  • Open for young people aged between 10 - 14 years.

  • Activities include: baking and cooking, sport and games, film nights, craft groups and workshops.

  • Regular community projects, events, and trips.

  • Tuck Shop selling sweets, crisps, drinks, and healthy alternatives.

TUESDAY DROP-IN: WIGGINTON

  • Tuesdays, 7:30 and 9:00 pm. Free of charge.

  • Based at the Old School in Wigginton.

  • Open to young people ages 13-15.

  • Take part in fun activities, workshops, projects and more.

  • Help build healthy lifestyles and life skill development.

OUTREACH SERVICES

Our youth provision also delivers activity outside of Oaken Grove, through outreach and detached youth work in the community. We deliver sessions in parks and public spaces, and at other youth groups and provisions. If you are interested in an outreach session in your community group, school, or service, please get in touch.

VOLUNTEERING

We are always on the lookout for enthusiastic and dedicated volunteers to help us deliver our youth provision – you must be able to commit to helping weekly or fortnightly for at least 6 months. You will receive full training, support and travel expenses. Please call us if you’re interested.
